Refocus!

My mom's only sister passed away last Good Friday at 330am (hour of Divine Mercy). She was 71 and was very ill. We were as prepared as can be (if there's such a thing) for her returning "home".

Mourning is important and being with family & relatives is always good (for us at least). For a few days the world seemed to have allowed us to pause and pay our respects to Tita. But the world actually doesn't stop for anybody - which is good and not so good. Good because one is pushed back into reality, gives you no other choice but to cope, and prevents you from wallowing in the loss of a loved one. More obvious is the not so good part of it - the difficulty in catching up with responsibilities, deadlines and what have you.

Emotionally, being around family and friends is much needed support. Physically, it's draining. You eat more -being around food the entire time. There's less movement -although it was a relatively big room, it was still confined space. Most of all, everyone feels the toll on the body due to the lack of sleep.

I am at a loss now - more with myself again I guess. There is a conscious effort of recalling how to focus! …a conscious effort on how to move forward and not be engulfed by the things I need to catch up with. Let the anxiety pass, leave it where it is and concentrate on Step 1. Then, Step 2, Step 3… one step at a time.

After all, there is only one "me" and I can only really do well with one thing at a moment. Whew. Make space, clear the table and re-strategize!

Imperfect Actions

Do you also find yourself in situations where you delay doing something until you’re sure enough about it or wait for the “perfect timing” …then realize that “the moment” has passed, what you intended to do no longer seems as relevant?

You rationalize or make excuses …but the bottom line is: you missed the opportunity already.

“Imperfect action is better than no action” (Giovanna Garcia).
